Dr. Joe Leanza, MD is Welcomed onto the American Health Council’s Board of Physicians

Dr. Joe Leanza, experienced pediatrician, has been appointed to the Board of Physicians of the American Health Council.

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Leanza has worked for Springdale-Mason Pediatrics for the last 15 years.

Dr. Leanza has always had a keen interest in human biology and this fueled his desire to pursue a career in the healthcare sector. Dr. Leanza has always been dedicated to supporting others and so a career in healthcare combined his love for biology and the healing of the human body with his love for helping others. This desire inspired him to pursue a BS in Biology, followed by a MHS in Public Health from the University of Cincinnati and John Hopkins University respectively. Dr. Leanza then graduated from the Medical University of Ohio with his MD in 1999.

Dr. Leanza currently works at Springdale-Mason Pediatrics who are committed to supplying children with top-quality medical care. The facility includes eight physicians and two pediatric nurses who support individuals in the Springdale and Mason branches. Springdale-Mason sets itself apart from similar facilities by ensuring the focus is always on the patients. Those who work here feel privileged to witness these children develop from babies towards adulthood and to provide invaluable support along the way for all stages of growth. For Dr. Leanza specifically, his daily duties include treating children of all ages and tailoring his care to cater for any special requirements.

Dr. Leanza has expertise in a broad range of pediatric care as well as family dynamics, preventative medical informatics and evidence-based medicine. He is also deeply interested in chronic conditions and guiding families to deal with these.

His specialist knowledge has been shared through the various publications he has contributed to and presentations he has delivered including Parent Education Night: Sleep and Nutrition at the Kennedy Heights Montessori Center on January 15 2008, Teenscape: The Modern World of Adolescence at the Cincinnati Pediatric Dentistry Society on May 10 2007 as well as Computer-based Modules and PDA Use in the Education and Practice of Modern Pediatrics, CHKD Grand Rounds, 2001.

Similarly, he has been awarded both the Emanuel O. Doyne Community Teaching Award from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2005 and The Innova Financial Group Special Needs Community Impact Award in 2014. In 2018, He won the AHC, Best in Medicine Award. Dr. Leanza attributes his extensive successes to being passionate about his sector and healing others whilst also educating about wellness and healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Leanza pools his knowledge with other specialists through his membership to many professional groups including the American Academy of Pediatrics, Cincinnati Pediatric Society, Ambulatory Pediatrics Association and International Pediatrics Association.

Outside of working life, Dr. Leanza cites his wife and 4 children as his biggest personal achievement; a testament to the importance of his family and the pride he feels towards them. He also enjoys being outside and playing soccer as well as being passionate about art and the theatre.

Looking to the future, Dr. Leanza hopes to create a Pediatric Complex Care Plan as well as continuing to write and share his knowledge and concentrate on child/parent development.
