“Dr. Stewart with Magnolia Pediatrics says there are ways to help your child avoid getting lice or super lice. When you send your child to school if they have long hair make sure they pull it up in a bun. That way it avoids contact with the person sitting beside them. Tell your children not to use other peoples brushes or combs while they are at school. Also avoid using other people’s hair accessories. Doctors say to avoid wearing hats or baseball caps.
If your child does end up getting lice make sure to go to the doctor to get it checked to see if it’s super lice. Dr. Stewart says in order to get rid of super lice it takes much more shampooing as well as combing out the lice.”
