The American Health Council has warmly welcome Ms. Karie Soost to its prestigious Physician Board. Drawing on over 25 years within the healthcare industry, Ms. Soost, from Mankato, Minnesota, is held in high esteem for her expertise in Diabetes and Patient Education.
Ms. Soost grew up on a small farm in a rural community. She saw a physician assistant as her primary care provider, and had many positive experiences. This inspired Ms. Soost to serve communities in the capacity that her physician assistant had.
Ms. Soost graduated from the College of Iowa, having attained her BS and PA-C qualifications. For the past 10 years, she has worked as a Physician Assistant at Mankato Clinic LTD. Daily, Ms. Soost serves as a clinical educator, sees patients in a clinical setting, works in problem resolution, delivers geriatric care and treats diabetic patients.
The Mankato Clinic is one of Minnesota’s largest physician owned, multispecialty regional group practices, with 135 providers located across ten sites in five communities, including Mankato, North Mankato, St. Peter, Mapleton and Lake Crystal. The Mankato Clinic and satellite locations employ over 750 people, and rank among the top 15 employers in the region. Major services provided include; Audiology, Dermatology, Breast Health, Endocrinology, a Fertility Program, Internal Medicine, and Nuclear Medicine.
Reflecting on her achievements, Ms. Soost feels she has been successful because of her sheer determination and commitment to hard work. While building her career, Ms. Soost also was a single mother and is proud to have single-handley raised her family.
Ms. Soost is trained in CPR and holds membership with the American Physician Assistant Association and the Minnesota Physician Assistant Association. Looking to the future, she plans to go on medical mission trips to help underserved communities.
Away from work, Ms. Soost enjoys spending time with her sons, gardening and reading.
