The American Health Council appoints Dr. Blake Brown, DPT to the Board of Physical Therapy

Dr. Blake Brown has been welcomed by the American Health Council onto its Board of Physical Therapy, in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the sector.

Dr. Brown is an established professional in the healthcare field and has dedicated his career development to date to the area of physical therapy. With over four years in the industry under his belt, Dr. Brown is well-equipped to deal with the needs of patients, developing expert care solutions that are tailored to the individual.

Dr. Brown realized his aptitude for Physical Therapy at an early age when he was involved in a number of sports. Whilst he originally considered becoming an athletic trainer because of his interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation, he soon discovered his passion for physical therapy when he acquired a job as a physical therapy tech whilst studying for his undergraduate degree. Dr. Brown gained his BS in Kinesiology, Exercise Science and Pre-Physical Therapy from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, in 2011. The physical therapy expert then went on to achieve his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport, in 2014. Dr. Brown was also the Vice President of his DPT class in 2012 and 2013, demonstrating his passion and commitment for the profession. The seasoned Doctor of Physical Therapy has since been dedicated to the field, using his expertise to achieve maximum levels of function for his patients.

In his current capacity, Dr. Brown is a Physical Therapist at Brown Physical Therapy in Monroe – an outpatient Orthopaedic Physical Therapy private practice. The seasoned doctor is equipped to offer a range of outstanding patient services, including Injury Prevention, Biomechanics, Patient Education, Orthopaedic Injuries and Rehabilitation, Postural Re-education, Pain Management, Post-Surgical Rehabilitation, and Athletics. The practice specializes in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and offers the utmost in patient care, with Dr. Brown treating a range of orthopedic patients daily as well as treating various Neurological deficits.

On top of his impressive career achievements, Dr. Brown maintains expert knowledge in the field through affiliations with key professional associations, including the American Physical Therapy Association, the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association and The Orthopedic Special Group and Private Practice.

Dr. Brown attributes his success to the support of his wife, Katelynn, who continues to inspire and motivate him and also the responses he gets from his patients, which further fuels his desire to continue making a difference. Dr. Brown’s job satisfaction comes from seeing his patients arrive with a particular injury or impairment, and guiding them to reach their maximum level of function – ultimately leading them to an improved quality of life.

Over the next five years, Dr. Brown intends to work with more inspiring Physical Therapists in order to gain the skills and experience needed to open his own practice. The professional also aims to continue his education and earn his certification in dry needling.

Outside of his busy career, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with his wife, Katelynn, and their newborn son, Beau. He also enjoys playing the guitar, golfing, and undertaking various home renovation projects with his wife.
