“Six health care centers in Kansas – including one in Wichita – have received more than $2 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, according to a news release from the department.The funding, according to the release, will “increase access to integrated oral health care services and improve oral health outcomes for Health Center Program patients.”Wichita’s HealthCore Clinic, formerly the Center for Health and Wellness, received $350,000 in funding.The other five health centers in Kansas that received funding are: Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas Inc. in Pittsburg, $525,000; Flint Hills Community Health Center Inc. in Emporia, $350,000; Heartland Medical Clinic Inc. in Lawrence, $350,000; PrairieStar Health Center Inc. in Hutchinson, $350,000; and Salina Health Education Foundation in Salina, $286,420. Nationwide, the Department of Health gave $156 million in funding to 420 health centers in 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, according to the release.”
